Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will hold a combined examination for recruitment for different posts. It is first time online applications are being accepted for Combined Graduate level Examination from SSC. Details of the posts being offered are given as under:

  1. Central Govt. Ministries/ Departments (CSS Cadre): Assistants (CSS) classified under Group B with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4600.
  2. Central Govt. Ministries/ Departments other then CSS Cadre: Assistants in other Central Govt. Ministries/ Departments/ CVC etc. classified under Group B with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.
  3. D/ Post: Inspector (of Posts) classified under Group B with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.
  4. CBEC: Inspector (Central Excise/ Preventive Officer/ Examiner) classified under Group B with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4600.
  5. CBI: Sub-Inspector classified under Group C with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.
  6. CBDT: Inspector of Income Tax classified under Group C with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4600.
  7. Directorate of Enforcement: Assistant Enforcement Officer classified under Group C with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4600.
  8. CAG Offices: Divisional Accountants classified under Group C with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.
  9. M/ Statistics & Prog. Imp: Statistical Investigators, Gr.II classified under Group B with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.
  10. RGI: Compilers classified under Group C with Pay Band 5200 – 20200 & Grade Pay 2400.
  11. CAG Offices: Auditors classified under Group C with Pay Band 5200 – 20200 & Grade Pay 2800.
  12. CAG Offices: Junior Accountants/ Accountants classified under Group C with Pay Band 5200 – 20200 & Grade Pay 2800.
  13. Central Government Offices/ Ministries other than CSCS CAdres: UDCs classified under Group C with Pay Band 5200 – 20200 & Grade Pay 2400.
  14. CBDT/ CBEC: Tax Assistants classified under Group C with Pay Band 5200 – 20200 & Grade Pay 2400.
  15. MHA: Sub Inspectors (Ex) in CPOs (ITBP, CISF, CRPF, SSB, BSF) classified under Group C with Pay Band 9300 – 34800 & Grade Pay 4200.

ELIGIBILITY:

Age Limit (as on 2nd March, 2010):

i) Inspector of Income Tax/ Inspector  (Central  Excise)/ Inspector (Preventive Officer)/ Inspector (Examiner)/ Inspector of Posts/ Assistant  Enforcement Officer  Divisional Accountant/ Auditors/ UDCs /Tax Assistants 
: 18 -27 Years
ii) Statistical Investigators Gr.II: Not exceeding 26 years
iii) Assistant/Sub Inspector in CBI: 20 – 27 Years
iv) Sub Inspectors (Ex) in CPOs: 20-25 years

Essential Qualification (as on 2nd March 2010):

I)  Statistical Investigator Grade – II   

Bachelor’s  Degree with Statistics as  one of the main subjects.
OR

Bachelor’s Degree with Mathematics( with Statistics as a papers studied  in one year/two years/all three year as the case may be) as one of the main subjects.
                                                            OR

Bachelor’s  Degree with Economics ( with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as one of the main  subjects.
                                                            OR

Bachelor’s Degree with Commerce (with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/two years/all the three years as the case may be) as  one of the main  subjects.

II) Compiler

Bachelor’s  degree with Economics or Statistics or Mathematics as compulsory or  elective subject  from any recognized University.

III) All other Posts: 

Bachelor’s Degree (Graduation Degree) or equivalent from a recognized University.

APPLICATION FEES

FEE: RUPEES ONE HUNDRED ONLY(Rs.100/-)
Fee is exempted for Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Physically Handicapped, and Ex-Servicemen  eligible for reservation.

PAYMENT MODE

i) The candidates should pay the fee by means of "Central Recruitment Fee Stamps(CRFS)"only. After getting the Recruitment Fee Stamps cancelled from the Post Office, the candidate must submit their application to the concerned Regional Office/Sub Regional Offices  of the Commission in the usual manner after completing other formalities.
II) The candidates submitting their applications on-line should pay the requisite fee only through  State Bank of India (SBI).

SCHEME FOR THE EXAMINATION

The Scheme of the Examination will be conducted in three tiers as indicated below:

            1st Tier             --          Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
            2nd Tier             --         Written Examination (Objective Multiple Choice Type)
3rd Tier             --          Personality Test /Interview  or  Skill Test (wherever applicable)
            Candidates opting for post of Sub-Inspector in CPOs will be required to undergo Physical Endurance Test (PET)/Medical Examination at any convenient  time after declaration of result of Tier I. There is no interview component for the posts of Divisional Accountants, Auditors, Accountants/ Junior Accountants, UDCs and Tax Assistants. All the 3 Tiers are not necessarily applicable on all the posts. For detailed information about particular post examinations refer detailed information.

Note: 
  • There will be a single Application Form both for the Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier - I) and (Tier - II).
  • Reservation   for Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes(ST), Other Backward Classes(OBC), Ex-Serviceman(EXS) and  Physically Handicapped(PH)  candidates for all categories of posts/services wherever  applicable  and  admissible  would be as per extant Government Orders.
  • Degree obtained through open Universities/Distance Education Mode needs to be recognized by Distance Education Council, IGNOU. Accordingly, unless such Degrees had been recognized  for the period when the candidates  acquired the relevant qualification, they will not be accepted for the purpose of Educational Qualification.
  • After the Tier II Examination and Interview/ Skill test, wherever applicable, the commission will prepare an ALL INDIA MERIT LIST for each group.
  • The Commission will recommend the candidates in the MERIT LIST on the basis of the aggregate marks obtained by candidates in the written exams and interview (wherever applicable) and option/ preference exercised by the candidate in the application form. THE CANDIDATES ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE OPTIONS IN APPLICATION FORM CAREFULLY.
  • Only a single application will be entertained.  Candidature in respect of multiple applications will be rejected.

HOW TO APPLY:

There are two mode for application:
Online: Online application will be submitted after making payment of application fee at any State Bank of India (SBI) branch, by net banking, debit card/ credit card payment.  No documents will be sent to Commission. OR
Paper: Application form in paper form to be filled up and payment by CRFS only. Paper application form with CRFS to be sent to designated place.

    Commission does not public total vacancies for the specific posts. Candidates will be ranked on ALL INDIA MERIT BASIS & Top notch candidates would be sought according to their requirement. So try to be on higher side because list will be sought for a year long vacancies as your score will be valid for year long.
