Income Tax Department Looking Graduates with Sports Background

Chief Commissioner of Income Tax Chennai invites applications from Sports persons for the following posts:

1. Inspector of Income-Tax: Pay Scale Rs. 9300-34800; Grade Pay: 4600.
2. Tax Assistant: Pay Scale Rs. 5200 - 20200; Grade Pay: 2400.
3. Peon: Pay Scale Rs. 5200-20200; Grade Pay: 1800.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

• EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: 

Inspector of Income-Tax: Graduation degree.
Tax Assistant: Graduation degree and data entry speed of 8000 key depressions per hour.
Peon:  Matriculation or equivalent qualification.

• SPORTS BASED REQUIREMENT: 

Discipline for below given achievements: Cricket (Men only); Hockey (Men Only); Volleyball(Men only); Football (Men only); Basketball(Men only); Athletics(both Men and Women)

1) Candidate who have represented the Country/ State in the National/ International tournament during the years 2007-08 and 2008-09.
AND
2) Candidate should have represented a University in the inter University Tournament conducted by the inter University Sports Board during the years 2007-08 and 2008-09 in anyone of the above discipline.

• AGE (as on 1st March 2010): 

Inspector of Income Tax and Tax Assistant Posts: 18 to 27 years (relation available for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Exceptional Sportsperson as per norms).
Peon Posts: 18 to 25 years (relation available for SC/ ST/ OBC/ Exceptional Sportsperson as per norms).

NOTE: 
1. The Posts are temporary but likely to be made permanent afterwards.
2. The person selected are liable to be posted anywhere in Tamil Nadu.
