Applications are sought for the post of Research Officers in Reserve Bank of India from Indian Citizens and others eligible (as per norms). Details are given as under:

Research Officers in Grade B: For Dept. of Statistics and Information Management (DSIM) Total Post: 10 (Gen - 5, SC - 3, OBC - 2); Pay Scale Rs. 13700 - 24400).

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

To obtain and compile data, undertake various statistical analysis, designing and organizing of large scale sample surveys and processing on the Bank's Computer System.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

• AGE (as on 01 Feb. 2010): Between 21 and 30 years. Candidates possessing M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualification in the specified subjects will be eligible for relaxation in upper age limit by 1 and 3 years respectively (relaxation available as per norms).

• EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

A Master's Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT - Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT - Bombay with a minimum 55% marks.
OR
Master's Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from a reputed Institute.
OR
M.Stat. Degree of Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum 55% marks.

(For SC Candidates, minimum marks for above given requirements would be 50%)

DESIRABLE: i) Doctorate in topics related to above given subjects will be given preference.
ii) Research or teaching experience and publication in standard journals will be considered as an additional qualification.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:


Written Test & Interview. Written test will be conducted on May 8 and May 9 and will consist 3 papers (Objective Type on Statistics, Descriptive Type on Statistics & English).

APPLICATION PROCEDURE:


1. Get a DD issued favouring "RESERVE BANK OF INDIA" Payable at Mumbai (if applicable). Candidates from un-banked areas may pay fee by crossed Indian Postal Orders in favour of Reserve Bank of India Payable at GPO, Mumbai.
2. The Application Strictly in conformity with the Format must be typed or neatly hand-written in Hindi or English on a good quality white A4 size paper along with prescribed fee should be sent in the envelope containing the name written "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF RESEARCH OFFICERS IN GRADE B FOR DSIM" to the following address:

IMPORTANT DATES:


The Application and DD/ IPO should have been dated/ obtained on or before 29th March 2009.

However, last date for Receipt of Application is 1st April 2010 by ordinary post (5th April 2010 from Candidates from Far-flung area by ordinary post).

Note: For Application received in any manner other than by ordinary post, closing date will be 6PM on March 29, 2010.
