Indian Railway Requires Assistant Station Master and Traffic Assistant - Graduation Required

Railway Recruitment Boards invites applications from eligible Indian Nationals for the post of Assistant Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Details are given as under:

1. Assistant Station Master: Total Posts 1991 (GEN - 1018; SC - 380; ST - 199; OBC - 394) out of which EXSM - 184. Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 - 20200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2800.

2. Traffic Assistant: Total Posts 24 (GEN - 15; SC - 3; ST - 6; OBC - 0) out of which EXSM - 4. Pay Scale: Rs. 5200 - 20200 with Grade Pay Rs. 2000.

* 3% of the total vacancies has been kept reserved against Physically handicapped Quota pending further orders. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 
  • MEDICAL FITNESS: A-2 (a level of Medical Standards which the candidates will have to qualify before appointment in Railways). 
  • EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION: Graduation degree from recognized University or equivalent is must.
Diploma in Rail Transport & Management, Transport Economics, Multimodel Transport (Containerization) awarded by Institute of Rail Transport Rail Bhawan, New Delhi will be taken as additional desirable qualification and will be given preference.
  • AGE (as on 01.07.2010): 18 to 33 years (relaxation as per norms).

APPLICATION FEE: Rs. 60 (NIL for SC/ ST/ EXSM/ PH/ Women/ Minorities/ Economically backward classes candidates having annual family income less than Rs. 50000/-)


SELECTION PROCEDURE:
1. Single Stage Written Examination
2. Aptitude Test and
3. Verification of documents


NOTE: 

1. Those candidates awaiting results of the final examination or in the final year need not to apply.
2. Candidates should note that RRBs will hold Written Examination for Assistant Station Master and Traffic Assistant on the same day.
3. Female candidates are also eligible and encouraged to apply. It may be noted that job will involve arduous nature duties and shifts at odd hours.
4. A candidate may apply for more than one RRB but should note that the examination will be held by all RRBs on the same date.
5. Participating RRBs have given choice of Local Language. Candidates have got the option to choose any one of the local languages at the time of applying.
6. Ineligible Candidates whose application have been rejected last time may apply afresh considering their eligibility this time.
7. Look for the Detailed Information File and select the particular RRB. A candidate can give examination only for a particular RRB.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE: 

1. Candidates are required to download the Application Format with Information Sheet and other forms (if applicable) from the below given link and take a print out of the same.

2. Candidate have to fill the print out of required forms in own handwriting properly taking care of all given instructions.

3. Get a DD/ Pay order  issued from a Nationalized Bank OR a Indian Postal Order in favour of "ASSISTANT SECRETARY OR SECRETARY OR MEMBER SECRETARY OR CHAIRMAN, RAILWAY RECRUITMENT BOARD" of Concerned RRB. It should be payable at the place where the Railway Recruitment Board is situated. Check your concerned RRB where you are applying and get a DD/ Pay Order / Indian Postal Order as per instructions given in detailed Information file by visiting below given link.

4. The envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed
"APPLICATION FOR THE POST/S OF _______________________ CATEGORY NO/s ____________________EMPLOYMENT NO. 03/2010 & COMMUNITY _________________(SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD/ EXSM)".

5. Ensure that Application Form in the prescribed Format with Information Sheet, DD/ Pay Order (If applicable) and other documents to be sent to the concerned RRB office only.

6. Candidates applying for RRB Chennai, Mumbai, Ranchi, Secunderabad and Thiruvananthapuram may submit their application online. They have to consider the given instruction for submitting their application.

LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION IS 23.03.2010 UP TO 17.30 HRS. 
FOR CANDIDATES FROM FAR FLUNG AREAS LAST DATE IS 07.04.2010 UP TO 17.30 HRS.
